Anne Lyus

Having been a keen artist for many years, experimenting with different media, I decided to enrol on a 2 year Foundation Art Studies course at Stockport College where I was introduced to printmaking.  I then went on to do a 3 year Complete Printmakers course at Hot Bed Press in Salford.  I soon realised my preferred printing process was collagraphs.  I enjoy the freedom of working with collagraphs, finding the process exciting, versatile and creative.
I currently find my inspiration from my home environment where I am fortunate to be surrounded by a variety of trees and shrubs, providing me with a wealth of shapes and forms.
Having an attic studio at home enables me to create and prepare my collagraph plates.  I then take my prepared plates into the print studio.  Firstly I take an embossing on dampened 250gm paper, followed by inking, wiping and finally running the plate through an etching press.
I have exhibited my work as part of a group at Warrington Art Gallery, RKB Gallery in London, Portico Gallery in Manchester, Silk Museum in Macclesfield and numerous Print Fairs
