Mei Yuk Wong

A range of work exploring different ideas, often responding to specific themes, including pictures, text pieces, prints and objects.

My work often deals with various issues, expressed in different media. It ranges from personal issues about memories and childhood to social, political themes about gender equality, the refugee crisis and democratic movements. I often use a variety of media to create my work. As a visual artist and writer, text is another way to express ideas and concepts. I find that embroidery, or using chalk to write a poem, is as powerful as painting a picture. Therefore, my work ranges from photographic prints and painting, to textile and sculpture. It all depends on the specific ideas and concepts.
