Needle felt landscape artist, and felted accessories, inspiration being the Pennine and Cumbrian hills.

I use combed and dyed merino wool tops to make my art, ( this would be the same wool that is used for spinning prior to knitting but without these processes ) I use the wool in the way a traditional artist uses paint. Often using a single strand of sheeps wool at a time. The layers are built up and bound together by stabbing with a series of different sized and shaped barbed needles, until a solid piece of fabric is produced. I then embellish the landscape either by hand or machine prior to framing. I have been working with wool in this way since 2006, I also spin and weave and produce wet felted accessories.
